Driver shares incredible 25p hack to get scuff marks off your car & save hundreds

Dec 17, 2023

A SAVVY driver has shared an incredible 25p hack to remove scuff marks from your vehicle.

The tiktoker took to social media to reveal the money-saving tip, but users are divided.

User @kayah_baiyah shared the tip in a TikTok video and claimed to remove scratches from metal surfaces on your car "every time".

The content creator said the easy solution saved her hundreds in car repairs.

In the footage she explains: "A guy hit me, and you can see the marks here."

"I took my car to the dealership to ask them how can I get it out, and they told me $600."

However the money-saving expert left the shop to take matters in her own hands and fix the issue using everyday items.

She added: "I left that day and got on TikTok to search what can I do to get scuff marks out of my car.

"They said put white toothpaste on and I took a white erase marker and literally is coming out."

She then proceeded to demonstrate the easy-fix by rubbing the toothpaste solution with an erase marker on top of the visible scratches on her white car.

She said: "I was about to pay $600 and it's coming out. I'm so excited."

The post has now gone viral with more than 70,000 of likes and hundreds of comments from other drivers.

Amazed drivers took to the comment section to share their feedback and suggestions.

User @KiWhi said: " So basically go to TikTok before you pay someone."

Another user even advised a different hack saying: "Next time just use microfiber towel. I bought one to my friend and he wiped off the scratches easily."

@Bandpinkpony added: "I use just a magic eraser on my white car for these. Just make sure you wax it afterwards."

But not everyone is impressed as other drivers have criticised the tip branding it "abrasive" to cars.

One user said: "Be careful, you're cutting the paint away but also your clear coat. There are less abrasive polishing pads that are meant for this."

Another added: "That magic eraser is putting scratches in your paint while removing the paint transfer."

User Alicia said: "I saved $600 but I'm going to need a paint job ."

It comes as another car expert claimed to have a “magic hack” which can remove surface scratches from cars – but not everyone is convinced.
